deepClock App Reviews

Nicely done

I love the thought that has gone into Deepclocks analog desktop clock. You can have it disappear when the cursor goes over it so that it is not obscuring what is underneath it. It stops disappearing when you press the option key so you can move it. They have 15 clock faces to chose from. Obviously I like seeing an analog map of what time it is, rather than digits. DeepClock does a lot of other things, like calendars, but I use it for the clock and I recommend It highly.

Clunky

I could not get to the menu, despite the trick described in another review. The clock looks fine, but without access to the menu it cannot be resized or even closed. I had to restart my machine just to close it.

Events on DeepClock not working properly

I loved using Deep Clock but then it became buggy with updates.. Events portion, where you type in a message to be shown at a different time stopped working properly. Messages would disappear and future messages would show up in its time slot instead, crazy. I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it, same problem. I wrote deep clock to fix this bug. Hopefully they will respond. I have a MacBook Pro.

My Favorite clock and calendar

I like having the black clock face, white numbers, red second hand and quarter hour markers, I like the appearance of this clock. I like being able to choose a size and position. Same for the calendar, positionable, choice of appearances, as selected it is fairly transparent, with a large number, which doesn’t get in the way. I appreciate that the developer has made this. I have tried quite a few and this is the winner, thank you.

Very usable, but not perfect.

Pros: • Clock stays in place when switching between laptop monitor and external monitor. • Clock doesn’t take a space in the command-tab app-switcher, nor in the dock. Cons: • No option to set its translucency. Clock does have the option to disappear upon mouseover, but I wish I could see through it always at a glance. • Too many skeuomorphic decorations. I just want a white circle with thin, black hands, and minuscule black tick marks. No border, no other unnecessary graphics. • I wish I could make it smaller than 100x100 pixels (how about 50x50?).

the developer wrote me and the clock is a great application

The developer is very cooperative and this is a great application.

Doesn’t Work Again

The clock and calendar are moving around on the screen, even though they have been locked. Started with the latest update and Yosemite.

Icon of app. on store page is misleading

There is no theme for a clock as displayed in the store page, and it’s not possible to have a tiny date on any clock theme. Apart from that it works as described.

Works exactly as described!

It works fine as described. The calendar views are ugly. There should be more options for calendar view.

No menu icon/preferences or control after latest update

After the latest update there is no menu icon and no apparent way to get to preferences. There is no control over positioning with this latest release.

Latest Version of Deep Clock

Deep clock is quite the best analogue display of both the time and the date that I have found. It is discreet and pleasing to the eye and subtilely informative. It is for all who wish to look at a clock face to learn how time is progressing not what the time actually is. This impression of the passage of time cannot be achieved with a digital clock which must be read in detail. After this the precise time of day is known but no understanding of the passing of time is gathered. The recent difficulties have been resolved with respect to the positioning and stability of the clock face. This has involved a major effort by the app writer who kept clients involved as the problem was being beaten. This dedication to maintaining a quality product is rare and much to be appreciated.

upgrade ruined it

Just had an “upgrade” for Deep Clock on my iMac, and now I have no access to display preferences, can’t move the placement of rhe clock and calendar on the screen. Maybe that’s just with a Mac, but now useless to me.
